2020
Material: Bronze
Dimensions:
Figure #1 (Pigeon) 180 cm x 60 cm x 35 cm
Figure #2 (Squirrel) 165 cm x 55 cm x 30 cm
Location: Corner of Princess Street and Division Street, Kingston, Ontario, Canada
Commissioned by the City of Kingston, The Wilds of Kingston consist of two bronze figures that appear to be citizens leisurely going about their day; however, upon inspection the figures reveal themselves to be extraordinary characters with the heads of a pigeon and a squirrel. Humorously referencing cartoon clichés, this installation invites a thoughtful reflection on our relationship to nature and the urban environment.
